what a collection, many I did not know, but bob t. was still sprinting
strong when I started as a junior...and maynard I helped become
more interested in the bike when in the mid-later 70's here in
marin, he had a brown bianchi touring machine when we met, and went
on to be the icon that he was/is...classic...big hi to "mayns"...

I had the pleasure of being in high school (san rafael h.s.) and
"growing up" with older guys owen, nick, flip, larry mersareau,
and others...if my folks had really known those guys then, they
probably would not have cared much for my choice in older
friends...west marin was a real delight for a bike rider then...

enclosed are the pages from bicycling and international cycle sport
from 1971 when marin made news for its high school bike racing...it
was the first of 2 years that it happened...you will recognize some
people in the pics perhaps...I am making a large effort not to
smile, and joe (breeze) looks like an escaped convict, and steve
mickens' father was pres. of the marin cyclists from about 1970-74,
and taught me how to true a wheels in his garage...fun times...for
me it was a wed. afternoon training race...

I must be in boise for my parents, as my sister needs some time
away from being the #1 in charge of my folks daily lives...it is
also my dads b-day right about there...

have a great time...drink alot...be silly...hello to anyone I may know...
cheers, jer
