On 21 March, Susan and I set off in Bertha to visit Pinnacles National Monument and various other points south. This is just a selection of pictures to give you the flavor of the trip.

Arrived in the evening and took a little walk. Saw the Pinnacles from a distance. Searched for condors (in vain).

The next day, we took a killer walk. Saw lots of rocks and flowers. And condors! #21 (because you could see his wing tag!) was parked on a rock a few feet from the trail.

The next day, day 3, we took hike to the caves in the AM. The "caves" are really a jumble of fallen rocks, quite spectacular.

Then we drove to a mission in Hunter Ligget (no pictures?!?) and on to Paso Robles, where we ate lunch. Then we drove over to the coast where we caught a sunset.

The next day, day 4, we took hike to a waterfall, then stopped at a beach on the drive home. The "altered sign" was amusing. The trail to the right was wiped out, so they sawed off the right pointer and turned it into a left pointer.
