May Wah Ng, December 24, 1939-September 2, 2017

May Wah Ng died Saturday, September 2, 2017 at her home in Berkeley. She is survived by her son, Alex Cilensek and her daughter, Coco Nijhoff, two nephews and niece and many close friends. She is a graduate of Berkeley High School and UC Berkeley, where she majored in French. She worked in Central Computing Services at UC Berkeley for many years.

May Wah spoke French and Spanish and travelled extensively throughout her life. She went to France, England, Italy, Portugal, Hungary, Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Panama and Martinique. She especially loved Spain and walked the Camino de Santiago de Compostella pilgrimage over a few visits.

There will be a private funeral on Friday, September 15, 2017 with arrangements made by Piedmont Funeral Services. She will be interred at Mountain View Cemetery along with her sister King Wah Moberg and her brother Yook Cheng Ng.

A memorial celebration of her life involving a delicious meal will be planned for friends at a later date.
