Charleston 16-19 October:
-
On Saturday 16 October,
we left Janie and Bobby and drove to Charleston.
To Folly Beach, actually,
where we spent Saturday night.
-
On Sunday, we drove to Charleston.
Killed time at the aquarium.
-
While waiting for our swell digs to be ready.
-
We ate a nice dinner at the bar at High Cotton.
-
On Monday, we ate lunch at Tommy Condon's.
-
Then we took a cruise to Ft Sumter.
-
And a tour of the city by horse-drawn carriage.
-
Dinner that night was at Bocci's (not Bucci's!).
-
On Tuesday the 19th, we visited the pace where I lived in Charleston
from 1950-53, George Legare.
It had changed a lot - from 1 and 2-story 4 plexes to modern housing,
none of which we photographed.
Just the woods that used to be behind my unit.
-
Then we drove to Sullivan's Island for Susan's mandatory swim.
Which was special - she swam with the dolphins so close she could
hear them breathing and clicking.
-
The we beetled out of town and drove to Solomans Island for the
next phase of our adventure.
