6 July, second day in Yellowstone. We drove back to the South Rim, where Vance was introduced to a coyote pelt.
After lunch, and after much discussion, four of us were ferried to the South Rim to hike back to the cabins. I thought it was foolhardy. Maybe it was, but it was also magical.
