On 15 November, Susan and I flew to Phoenix en route to Tucson to ride El Tour de Tucson and visit with Ron (Susan's brother) and his wife Janis. We had a splendid thanksgiving dinner with Janis' sisters and families and enjoyed numerous walks.
Blow-by-blow:
Ron and Susan exploring the yard of Ron's very pleasant house.
Tabasco is Ron (and Janis') cat.
Two pictures taken at the start of our 42-mile El Tour ride.
The next morning, we went on a warm-down ride and intercepted
the El Tour course in Canyon Ranch.
Ron made this stained-glass window at an earlier abode.
The next seven snaps were taken on a hike
with Ron, Lynn (Janis' sister), Katrina (Lynn's daughter)
Susan and I in Sabino Canyon.
"Retired guys" is sort of self-explanatory but
gives an idea of the splendid house.
"Thanksgiving Dinner Prep" is also self-explanatory.
"Three Sister,Two Daughters" -
Lynn (Janis' sister), Janis, Katrina (Lynn's daughter),
Meredith (Pat's daughter), and Pat (Janis' sister).
Thanksgiving morning, Janis, Ron, Lynn, Susan, and I took
a walk in Canyon Ranch.
We walked past a Saguaro which had collapsed while Janis and
Ron were walking by previously.
Janis suffered a minor scrape fleeing the collapsing cactus.
James is Pat's son, Patrick is her husband.
We had an excellent Thanksgiving dinner.
And an excellent time in the hot tub afterwards.
On Sunday, Ron, Janis, Susan, and I went for a hike in Saguaro East.
On Monday, Ron, Susan, and I went to the
Desert Museum.
The high point of our visit was the raptor show.
They've trained hawks and an owl to fly and roost
very close to the crowd.
The trainers (one of whom is pictured) would reward them
with bits of meat.
I must confess that I'm proud of the picture of the hawk in fight.
Even if it was an accident...
